Facebook Game Aims To End Extremism

Looks fun...


A social media game with Arab super heroes at its heart has been launched on Facebook.The man behind the project, Suleiman Bakhit, hopes that Happy Oasis can create positive role models for children who might otherwise be enticed by extremist views.The game launched this week and has already attracted 50,000 followers.

  8. Wow, so many "meh" responses~! Admittedly, I don't care one way or another...but it IS good to see a positive attempt to influence extremists away from...well, extremism.

    Meh, whether or not it helps, 50k followers ain't nothin' to scoff at. Here's to the hopes that it does well, eh?

  9. I gotta say I'm kind of surprised that this has been allowed to be made. I doubt it'll change anything, but good of someone for trying. They don't need positive role models though, I doubt people look at terrorists and think "Man, I wanna be like that" they look and they think that they are at least standing up for what they believe in, if we want to stop people from becoming terrorists, we can't keep martyring the ones there already are, and we should be trying to improve their countries, giving them better lives, not bombing the hell out of them.
